Dinner at a restaurant

We haven’t always had the greatest success eating at restaurants. Sit-down restaurants are a thing of the past. But if there’s one thing that can get Kyle excited about eating, it’s ice cream.

Kyle was so happy when we pulled off at the exit for his favorite restaurant that he raised his arms in the air and exclaimed, “Yay!! Restaurant!!” He held my hand, walked to the table, and waited for his food (with the help of the iPad–always come prepared).  He knew he had to eat his grilled cheese before ice cream, so he gobbled it up.

Daddy shared a cup of ice cream with Kyle, and when it was gone Kyle jumped out of his seat: “Bye restaurant!” I followed after him and we headed to the car, where he chatted enthusiastically about the restaurant all the way home.

It would appear to be a completely normal occurrence to some, but for our boisterous, picky eaters, this dinner was a triumph.
